Subliminal Songs

Any search online will bring up a multitude of subliminal songs. i.e. songs with subliminal messages in them.

You can find anything; ranging from classics like Led Zeppelin stairway to heaven hidden messages to the modern era with artists such as Lady Gaga, Madonna, and Justin Timberlake using subliminal encoding.

There is quite a strong debate whether artists intentionally put subliminal messages in their music or not. Most musicians simply deny using them. However when you watch some of these music videos or listen to the songs in reverse there are some pretty clear subliminal messages which can be heard. Messages which sound just too clear to be an accident or just in there by chance.

The craze for recording / finding subliminal messages in songs started way back in 1967 with the release of Led Zeppelins track “Stairway to Heaven” Within this video there were alleged to be subliminal messages around the chorus section where the line starts “so there's a bushell in your hedgerow”. “Here's to my Sweet Satan” was the message revealed when playing the track backwards. This caused massive public outcry, and a lot of anger from religous commnities - but Led Zeppelin stayed quiet and didn't say a word.

But the denial was irrelevant, phenomenon of subliminal backmasking in songs was created!

People started looking for messages, while more artists started putting them in their music. Subliminals have since been found in:

Britney Spears – telling people “sleep with me I’m not too young” in her first single.

Nirvana – a message saying “I hate you” in their hit single Smells Like Teen Spirit.

Tupac – hinting that he is still alive.

Queen – suggesting Marijuana use.

Lady Gaga – telling people to “have sex” in her first single “just dance”.

This is just the start, musicians have been putting subliminals in their music for over 40 years! There are countless examples from across all genres, and practically all famous popstars!
